MB SQL Backup · last updated 21 October 2026
MB SQL Backup runs entirely on the Windows computer where its owner installs it. It has no servers of its own, sends no data to its author, and contains no analytics or advertising.
What it accesses in a Google account
-
Files it creates in Google Drive (the
drive.filepermission): the backup files it uploads and the folder that holds them. It cannot see, read or change any other file in the Drive. - The account's email address, shown on the destination's screen so the owner knows which account is connected.
How it uses that access
Only to upload backups, list them, delete the ones older than the owner's retention rule, and download them when the owner restores a database. Nothing from the Google account is used for any other purpose.
What it keeps, and where
The sign-in token Google issues is stored on the computer running the service, encrypted with Windows data protection, in a folder only administrators and the service can read. The email address is stored with it. Neither is sent anywhere else, shared, or sold.
Removing access
Remove the destination in MB SQL Backup, or revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Backup files already in the Drive stay there until you delete them.
Google API Services User Data Policy
MB SQL Backup's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
